Since 1945, more people have "Seen the U.S.A. in a Chevrolet" from Albrecht -Hamlin Chevrolet than any other automobile agency in the Wood River metro area.
Charles Albrecht who had been a Sales & Service Manager at an Edwardsville, Illinois dealership, ventured out to develop his own. In 1945 he established "Albrecht Chevrolet" in a small building on Wood River Ave. The firm quickly outgrew those facilities and moved to a larger location in 1949 on Edwardsville Rd in Wood River. As sales continued to grow so did the need for a larger building.
So in 1977 the Dealership was relocated to its present location at 1401 Vaughn Rd. in Wood River. This new 70,000 S.F. facility is where the dealership thrives today.
The measure of Albrecht Hamlin's success indicated by sales and repeat customers. Edward Hamlin C.E.O., joined the firm in1950 and "Albrecht Chevrolet" became Albrecht - Hamlin Chevrolet. Mr. Hamlin once said ,"children who rode away from our dealership on their parents lap now have their children buying cars from us". A sure sign that Albrecht - Hamlin is doing something right.
Mark Hamlin, joined the firm in 1975, worked his way up to president of the company and currently presides over the day to day operations.
Albrecht - Hamlin Chevrolet has prided itself on customer satisfaction and for the past 60 plus years Albrecht-Hamlin has been and still is one of the leaders in customer loyalty in the St. Louis metro area. This fact alone has helped us to sell over 90,000 new and used Chevrolet cars and trucks.
